Trend Micro’s Abuse of a Latina Woman in America
For a long time I called it dedication.
Six-day weeks. Messages answered before sunrise and after midnight (I have proof!!) Every company "emergency" absorbed as my own. I thought that was commitment.
Then I got sick: the kind with a name and a treatment plan: and I did the thing you're supposed to do. I disclosed. Natalie Low failed to provide me with a contact for benefits in the midst of my depression. I almost killed myself, but I prevailed.
To watch my depression get treated as an inconvenience, an overreach, a problem with me by the very same organization I was slaving for was difficult.
That was the moment the story cracked open. Because a workplace that punishes you for the exact protections you're entitled to was never a family. It's a system that runs on your self-erasure and calls it culture.
I'm not exhausted-loyal anymore. I'm rested and clear. And clear-eyed, I can finally see it: my worth was never the hours. Never the sacrifice. It was mine the whole time.
If you're still somewhere that only values you at the edge of collapse, you are allowed to leave the story, there is better for you.
I did & I’m better for it. I have no money left, but I will fight until my dying day for the justice I deserve, that is the American way.
Trend Micro is evil.
Thank you for reading my words.
